Faithfulness to Fruitfulness
Summer OFF - now in its 8th year - has become familiar. And sometimes familiarity leads to
disinterest. After all, news cycles are short. We lose interest even in important things quickly, and expect upgrades often. “Isn’t it time for something new?"
But its the faithful steadiness of Summer OFF that leads to fruitfulness. So many of you have been going back and back again to Dexter Park, or Riverside Park, or somewhere else — year after year. Proverbs 28:20 says that “a faithful man will abound with blessings.” The same is true of ministries.
Pastor Jim Davis said, early on, the city doesn’t need suburbanites popping in once or twice for a feel-good missions experience. If you come, settle in.
We are so thankful for how many of you how served faithfully, year after year. And you are doing it again this summer. And you have seen the fruit of your work: children have been cared for and loved, the gospel is being shared, Christians are growing in outreach, and so far, one church has been planted — West End Community Church.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9. The following quote from Tim Challes' blog says it well:
Thank you to all who have served and are serving this summer! Your faithfulness is bearing fruit.
